The chakras pertain to the body's energy or life force. Life force rotates and is distributed throughout the body which gives life. There are seven major chakras. Each chakra is associated with an endocrine gland in the physical body. Each gland secrete their hormones directly into the bloodstream. When a person is suffering especially from a hormonal disease, acupuncture, acupressure or reflexology focus on the chakras to remove energy blocks to improve the flow of life force.
Crown Chakra- located just above the crown of the head. It represents infinity. The dominant color this chakra is violet. The endocrine gland associated with the crown chakra is the pineal gland.
Brow Chakra-situated at the center of the brow. It's also called the third eye. The third eye is heightened among people who are gifted in telepathy. The dominant color is indigo. The pituitary gland is the associated with the third eye. Instability in this chakra leads to tiredness, irritability, confusion and rigid thoughts. Imbalance leads to sinus problems, stress , neuritis and migraine.
Throat Chakra-Located in the throat area. It's dominant color is blue. The throat chakra is associated with the sense of hearing, nervous systems, female organs, vocal cords and the ears. The glands linked with it are the thyroid and parathyroids. Imbalance in this chakra can lead to asthma, vertigo, allergies, anemia, fatigue, laryngitis, sore throats, menstrual problems, skin and respiratory problems.
Heart Chakra-situated between the fourth and fifth thoracic vertebrae. Its dominant color is green. Physically, its center is associated with the heart, circulatory system, lungs, respiratory system, immune system, arms and hands. The endocrine gland associated with it is the thymus gland. When out of balance, there is possible heart attacks, stomach ulcers, and emotional problems (fear, bitterness and resentment).
Solar Plexus-located between the twelfth thoracic vertebra and first lumbar vertebra. It's dominant color is yellow which is associated with the fire element. This is the center of vitality generating the heat necessary to support life. This chakra is responsible for emotions, digestions and absorption. The gland associated with is is the pancreas. Then there is imbalance in this chakra , possible symptoms are mood swings, depression, introversion, lethargy, poor digestion, abnormal eating habits and skin problems.
Sacral Chakra-located between the pubis and navel. It's dominant color is orange. The main center for this chakra is associated with emotions and fear of anxiety. The glands connected with it are the adrenals. When this chakra is at full potential, it is open to intuitions and psychic abilities. Imbalance in this chakra are related to reproductive and sexual disorders. kidney, bladder, and circulatory system.
Base Chakra-referred to as the root center located at the base of the spine. The color of this chakra is red. The endocrine glands associated with it are the gonads. When its at full potential, the person is filled with strength and vitality and desires to live life to the fullest. When there's imbalance, the person feels sluggish, low in energy, and misses enthusiasm for life.
